Wijnmakers Jess Jackson (van Kendall-Jackson) en Pierre Seillan ontmoetten elkaar in de jaren '90. Seillan werkte bij verschillende châteaux in Bordeaux (waaronder Château Lassègue), maar voelde zich beperkt door de regelgeving in Bordeaux. Toen Jackson hem vraag of hij wijn wilde maken in Sonoma in Californië wist hij het meteen. Met zijn kennis van de druivensoorten uit Bordeaux ging hij aan de slag om drie Bordeaux-blends te maken, elk in hele kleine oplage. De drie wijnen Le Desir, La Muse en La Joie hebben veelvuldig al 100 punten behaald bij Wine Advocate. Wijnmaker Pierre Seillan draagt op dit moment de winery over aan zijn dochter Hélène.

Le désir 2012 : Wine Advocate (Robert Parker) : 100/100
A blend of 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 64% Cabernet Franc and 4% Malbec, the 2012 Le Désir…reminds me of a young vintage of Ausone, such as 2005.The wine has amazing minerality and an explosive blueberry nose intermixed with blackberries, newsaddle leather, charcoal and camphor. It is full-bodied, with espresso notes emerging on the palate.
Le désir 2015 : Wine Advocate (Lisa Perrotti-Brown) : 100/100
A blend of 64% Cabernet Franc, 27% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec, the very deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Le Désir is a little reticent at this very youthful stage, offering glimpses at dusty soil, iron ore, black truffles and salami notes over a core of red currant jelly, black raspberries, blackberries and star anise plus a waft of roses. Medium-bodied, very firm and very elegant yet incredibly intense in the mouth, it delivers loads of red fruit and earthy layers, finishing with great length and depth. 2,500 cases produced.
Le désir 2019 : Wine Advocate (Erin Brooks) : 100/100
The 2019 Le Désir is an exceptional blend of 83% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot, 5% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, offering complex, layered flavors, soaring aromatics and very detailed expression. Deep ruby-purple in color, its aromas unfold slowly and offer new nuances with each return to the glass: Morello cherries, warm chocolate, dried thyme, desiccated roses and dried herbs. The full-bodied palate offers concentrated, floral fruits, pixelated tannins, bursts of fresh acidity and a very long finish with layer after layer of detailed flavor. 2,500 cases were made.
